Positive Christianity of Hitler... Unleash the patriotic Church

There is nothing—absolutely nothing—insofar as political power when it is under girded by morality, especially when that morality embraces the strength of the Christian religion. This is what Adolph Hitler seized upon, amplified, and nourished: One Reich, one Reich's Church. With religion's unwavering legitimacy enshrouding Nazism's agenda—nothing could stop him. Today, an eerie semblance overshadows the West (this "revision"—August, 2005—is an update of this semblance)—it harkens back to the dark side of Christendom's triumphalism wherein the State and Church team up to defeat evil doers and simultaneously spread Globalism and Gospel through military strength and the Crusaders' zeal. What awful foolishness we witness when history repeats her worst episodes—nothing compares to the insanity of those who are doomed to duplicate earth's darkest days!

NEVER IN AMERICA?

This article was written by one of German ancestry whose forebears on his mother's side can be traced to Martin Luther himself; thence, the incessant interest in the rise of Adolf Hitler and, in particular (through years of research) the under girding support he derived in his ascendancy from the Christian religion in the heart of Europe. How could this possibly happen? Alas! Could we in America be as deceitfully predisposed to such a malevolent curse—driven by the same demons? Do we today witness camouflaged strategies designed to accomplish a greater horror of unimaginable consequence and upon Christendom of like vulnerability?

The remotest thought of such an evil plot akin to what seduced the German people could somehow be foisted upon our beloved America boggles the senses . . . yet, each day, each month, the same cultural polarization eerily divides; the similitude of its military-industrial complex mirrors that of Rome's expansions; its cries for greater and more restrictive security for its citizenry clamors; its tenuous economic factors now threatening the globalism it created as a result of the insatiable consumption of all things luxurious persist—all this while within the walls of our crystal city, the party is oblivious to the multitude of the wretched outside who admire and distain its opulence. Are there comparisons? Be not quick in your rejection that alleged "systems" now in place—with histories of wide disparity—insure Americans absolute relief from the extremities of Nazi Germany . . . look again, look carefully, very carefully . . . history's mercurial habit at repetition seeks to warn us all . . . "broad is the way that leadeth to destruction and many there be that go in thereat."

THE INTOXICATING APPEAL

To understand the appeal, the absolute, mesmerizing, and intoxicating drive behind Hitler's success, one must go beyond the inequities of the Versailles Treaty and delve into the mysterious association that Herr Hitler placed upon the Christian religion. Don't think that Adolf was way off into some cultic, overtly demonic world of fantasy and influence. True, the occult most assuredly was deeply engaged in his thinking and outlook—but the use of legitimate Christian imagery was his forte. He both understood the need to mobilize the masses and the religion that alone could sway their fidelity to his cause.

Furthermore, throughout his declarations and apparent pontifications, is a unique ability to uplift and galvanize the German people—to so highly esteem them, and to generate within them the self-esteem that would produce a people whose image reflected the one who had so unalterably changed and transformed them into the awesome enunciation of der Fuhrer himself. They became transfixed and transported into another state of mind and being—from despair and rejection, to an exhilarating euphoria and total acceptance. They could BE ALL THAT THEY COULD BE and then some. Here is no buffoon strutting upon the stage of German dejection cavalierly riveting the German mind and will upon himself—no, no, no!

Here is the uniqueness of Adolf Hitler—one who could so verbalize with utter clarity what the German soul could be in its fullness and creative genius. Neither did his spoken word proclaim his own commitment and genius—it climaxed within the Germany he envisioned in such a rapturous expression and discovery of who they were, and what they could become, with God Almighty vindicating every breath they would take! Hitler injected into nearly every German heart a DIVINE SPARK, which regrettably morphed into an inferno of destruction and death unforeseen in human history—but its initial dissension upon its benefactors was replete with a baptism of power and light utterly transcendent that it captured an entire nation in the heart of Christian Europe. Its pristine message created the IMAGE of DAS VOLK, a people who were destined by the very triumph of their corporate will to be the consummation and commencement of the Kingdom of God—DAS THOUSANDE JAHRE REICH! (The promised millennial reign—one thousand year kingdom)!

But, firstly, the Weimar Republic's failure was predictable. Its liberalism was far too watered down, far too immersed in its diversity and acceptance to galvanize the enthusiasm and concerted consecration of common folk, who longed for a winner, a leader, a "national champion." Democracy, gone awry, alone can produce dictatorship—de facto, or elected! Ultimately, the Left (Weimar or Hollywood)—again by its very nature—simply cannot SUSTAIN the caliber of commitment and vision that can be produced by absolutism and rigid conservatism to which we allude here.

AMERICA'S PATRIOTIC CHURCH

Today a growing number of truly evangelical faithful observe the Christian Right in America, assisted by its current allies among the so-called neocons (i.e., neoconservatives—pragmatic politicos), forging a formidable alliance of convenience that wholly supports the rise of the American New World Order System. Its striking resemblance to Hitler's appeals is frightful! Liberalism may rant and rave about societal freedoms and renounce governmental restrictions—but their voices and challenges are hollow sounding and even adjudged fallacious, when the triumph of his armies have so prevailed upon the Plains of Shinar! Libertarians and Constitutionalists—you do well to listen to this diatribe.

Likewise, the bickering factions within the Democratic Party (hard left-Moveon.orgs. vs. the Clintonians), whose extremities mirror the fratricide of their Weimar counterparts, sadly lack a cohesive strategy aside from a total pullout from the Middle East or its antithesis: All-out War against the infidels! Indeed, you especially do well to listen to this diatribe.

Meanwhile, the flagrant embrace of the war machine by evangelicals continues unabated—witness the bizarre web site @ http://www.forceministries.com and the on-going ascendancy of the American clergy to brandish their description as "Patriotic Pastors" juxtaposed to, I guess, those who are not—to wit:

"Thus, the Ohio Restoration Project (ORP) . . . plan(s) to identify and train 2,000 so-called 'Patriot Pastors' to get out the evangelical vote for the Ohio primary in May 2006.

"The Rev. Russell Johnson, ORP head and senior pastor of Fairfield Christian Church, an evangelical congregation in suburban Columbus, casts the 2006 election as an apocalyptic clash between a virtuous Christianity and the evildoers who oppose Christianity's values.

"This is a battle between the forces of righteousness and the hordes of hell," says Johnson on his church's website. He exhorts evangelical clergy to get off the sidelines and lead America away from secularism and godlessness through the ballot box." (August 23, 2005, Ohio Jewish News.com).

"God and country" rallies are planned throughout the burgeoning rise of the Patriotic Church over the next several years:

"Encourage their church families to participate in Pastor Policy Briefings and regional 'God and Country Rallies' where the issues of the day are underscored and highlighted and the Judeo-Christian ethic is affirmed. Nationally known speakers Franklin Graham, Zell Miller, Secretary of State Ken Blackwell (of Ohio), Bob McEwen, Pastor Lawrence White, Pastor Rod Parsley (Center for Moral Clarity), Ambassador Alan Keyes, Jerry Falwell, James Dobson, Chuck Colson, Pat Robertson and Tony Perkins will be asked to participate." (Abovetopsecret.com ­ Feb. 6, 2005).

This, coupled with Pat Robertson's "assassination remarks" of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez (August, 2005), in keeping with his chilling remarks regarding the nuking of our own State Department for its alleged "Anti-Americanism" made in October, 2003, highlights the identification of the Republican Party with the rise of the Patriotic Church and its "Patriotic Pastor" brigades—now galvanizing throughout these United States.

The "moral polarization" of America has created a huge gapping sociopolitical chasm akin to what took place in Germany's Weimar. Black, Hispanic, and other newly-arrived minorities, in the main, are familial stalwarts who, though the Democrat economic agenda meshes well on their behalf, are far more predisposed to the social agenda of the Patriotic Pastors—the "sodomites" who appear ubiquitous amongst the Democrats are shunned by the rank and file Republicans and most assuredly by the Patriotic Church. The vast majority of Germans were repulsed by the excesses of the Cabaret Society—who would lead them out of their debauchery, decadence, and depression?

The masses of Americana are traumatized by the "isms" identified with the Left in America (evolutionism, socialism, communism, anarchism, feminism, even ecumenism—especially, the UN's Millennium World Peace Summit in New York [http://www.cnsnews.com/news/viewstory.asp?Page=%5CForeignBureaus%5Carchive%5C200508%5CFOR20050826c.html], August 28-31, 2005 (now threatened by John Bolton's suggestions)—along with abortion, homosexuality/same sex marriage), even in the worst of economic situations these masses will not embrace "it's the economy stupid" but unwaveringly hold to their traditional values; furthermore, are not more Americans owning their own homes, working, living the dream as never before? The heartlanders and newly-arrived view these "isms" as anti-Christ, anti-God, and anti-American—much to the chagrin of the Democratic mainstream. Yet, the Left in America lumps "all" of faith as "suspect" at best, and at the core of America's demise at worst. Similarities, yes, similarities . . .

ADOLF HITLER—THE GERMAN SOLUTION IS A CHRISTIAN ONE

The tone and substance coming from the mouth of Herr Hitler, although the context is, of course, unique to European Christianity, is eerily compatible to what we are increasingly hearing today from certain political leaders within the American New World Order System. What you are about to read will shock many of you—will utterly cause you to have a spiritual seizure; a revulsion akin to a full-blown, stomach-bending, vomit—but you must come to terms with why this is happening and how religion—the Christian religion—is the most powerful tool that can be utilized in order to capture the "believing" masses and to promote, through "moral covering" and political dedication, an agenda that resounds within the heart of the common man in the context of Western Civilization.

Hitler, like today's champions of Americana, knew that the "believing masses" had been beaten down; had suffered their World War (Viet Nam), had their beloved Germany (America) battered about with moral decline and "radical secularism" that caused the "moral fiber" of the nation to collapse—something had (has) to be done—someone with guts and glory had (has) to arise to capture the imagination of the nation to arise from its depravity and crimes, from its vulnerability (be it from "them socialists" or "terrorists"), from its self-inflicted and debilitating social ills . . . someone is needed to alter our self-perceptions!

The problem was created by the Devil himself—The Cabaret Society of the Weimar Republic (They never represented true Germany!). "We'd been maligned by every creeping thing imaginable upon our streets: Socialists, Communists, radical Unionists, Jews, Secularists, Liberal Theologians, Homosexuals, Raunchy Entertainment, ad nausea—and this upon our wretched economic woes and that 'Paper from Hell' (i.e., the Versailles Treaty)."

Now—the Devil would provide the solution to the aforementioned problem. He would provide the solution through a man, a party, that would reach down to the common man and pull upon his heart strings—upon that which is made to respond to the highest ideals of man: His religious conscience would be the springboard to launch a fully consecrated and absolutely committed people, sold out to the one who could uplift and empower them. Thence, this resolution to Germany's defeat must be ensconced within the language of power and persuasion—it must carry the fervor of the EVANGELIST, the power of the PROPHET, the message of the APOSTLE! Yes, convoluted—but done with such passionate skill, that the unwitting and desperate would believe the LIE. Indeed, a true LIE is so close to reality that its frightening resemblance obscures all semblances to the truth!

Ultimately, a lie told long enough, and amplified to the uttermost, resounds with familiarity—YE SHALL BE AS GODS, KNOWING GOOD AND EVIL! This original deceit confounded our original forebears. This is no ordinary lie—it is THE LIE. Godhood, the ultimate UBERMENSCH, is the final destiny of the German race—of Hitler's "Religion." But first, the people must be prepared, until they realize their supreme destination and status as DAS VOLK!

HITLER—I CAN'T BELIEVE HE SAID IT! (Hitler/Nazi Comments in quotes/bold)

"We demand liberty for all religious denominations in the State, so far as they are not a danger to it and do not militate against the morality and moral sense of the German race. The Party, as such, stands for positive Christianity, but does not bind itself in the matter of creed to any particular confession." (Item 24 of the German Worker's Party "Program" cir. 1920s)

At the earliest formation of the Nazi Party, Hitler expressed his Christian support to the German people and soldiers. In the 1920s, Hitler's German Workers' Party (pre Nazi terminology) adopted a twenty-five-point program with the clear intent to persuade the German people that "positive Christianity" was in full conformity to the "moral" convictions of the Party—i.e., the Party fully embraced the morality of Christianity and that Christianity was viewed as "singular" in the minds of that Party—Catholic and Protestants were considered as the foundation of German Christianity in its fullness and jurisdiction (the Party embraced both as one).

"MY LORD AND SAVIOR . . . IN THE BOUNDLESS LOVE AS A CHRISTIAN . . . HE HAD TO SHED HIS BLOOD UPON THE CROSS. My feelings as a Christian point me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded only by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them. This is God's truth! He was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders. How terrific was His fight for the world against the Jewish poison. Today, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before in the fact that it was for this that He had to shed His blood upon the Cross. As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice....

"And if there is anything which could demonstrate that we are acting rightly it is the distress that daily grows. For as a Christian I have also a duty to my own people.

"When I go out in the morning and see these men standing in their queues and look into their pinched faces, then I believe I would be no Christian, but a very devil, if I felt no pity for them, if I did not, as did our Lord two thousand years ago, turn against those by whom today this poor people is plundered and exploited."

"We were convinced that the people needs and requires this faith. We have therefore undertaken the fight against the atheistic movement, and that not merely with a few theoretical declarations: we have stamped it out." ­Adolf Hitler, in a speech in Berlin on 24 October 1933.

Indeed, Hitler's speeches and proclamations, even more clearly, reveal his faith and feelings toward a Christianized Germany. Nazism presents an embarrassment to Christianity and demonstrates the danger of blending "faith with politics." Do you find it "spiritually disconcerting" to discover the depth of Hitler's hermeneutic? How about his exegesis of Matthew 3:7, 12:34 and John 2:15? Hitler's depiction of Jesus as the FIGHTER, not as the sufferer, is a distortion of the Scriptural intent of this reading; however, without knowing the full contextual nature of the Word, one could (as Hitler did) surmise a MILITANT JESUS is in view, and not a suffering Jesus.

It has been said, "The Bible can be read to say anything!" Examples abound: "Judas hung himself . . . go thou and do likewise!" This classic piece of cut and paste, though stupid, is precisely what many so-called expositors do with the Word of God—Hitler was no exception. But, the shedding of the blood of Jesus as the ultimate payment for "truth and justice and the German way" is frightening and turns true Christianity on its head! Note that Hitler claims to be a Christian and, as such, he has a duty to his own people—he too, like Jesus, must be a fighter for truth and justice—he must rid the Temple of the moneychangers, of the abominable Jews who harass his people, like Jesus did. The German people, according to Hitler, were being "plundered and exploited" and he would be NO CHRISTIAN if he didn't do something about it. Hitler's identification as a Christian was one of activism—not in name only! In this artful persuasion he under girded the German people in their predisposition to anti-Semitism, the full spiritual justification for their participation in the "Final Solution."

In sum: Hitler showed his disdain for atheism, and pagan cults, and revealed the strength of his Christian feelings—make no doubt about that. Likewise, his was no meaningless and superficial theology—it was clearly demarcated and set forth in all its hideous implications with righteous gusto.

CHURCH UNITY—HITLER WAS A FIRM BELIEVER IN IT

"It will at any rate be my supreme task to see to it that in the newly awakened NSDAP, the adherents of both Confessions can live peacefully together side by side in order that they may take their stand in the common fight against the power, which is the mortal foe of any true Christianity."—Adolf Hitler, in an article headed "A New Beginning," 26 Feb. 1925

"This is for us a ground for satisfaction, since we desire that the fight in the religious camps should come to an end... all political action in the parties will be forbidden to priests for all time, happy because we know what is wanted by millions who long to see in the priest only the comforter of their souls and not the representative of their political convictions."—Adolf Hitler, in a speech to the men of the SA at Dortmund, 9 July 1933, on the day after the signing of the Concordat (Agreement with the Roman Catholic Church, the Papacy).

The unity of the Church is a recurrent message delivered by Hitler. His object, of course, was "against the power"—i.e., the international Jewish conspiracy against the Church, and, of course, the German people and the world in general. The technique of solidifying the churches into the "Hammer of God" was a strategy that appealed to the vast majority of German Christians. That he would see in them such an instrument of righteous indignation was commending—both to them as the object of his insight, and to himself for his discernment of such.

It is my firm conviction that this is precisely what is happening in America today. The appeal to the Christian religion in the battle "against evil" within the West is NOT an historic first! Don't be so quick to terminate this reading—let me explain. Who are those who most clearly understand the language of THE AXIS OF EVIL? Who are those who clearly grasp the "spiritual reality" behind Islamic terrorism? The current President is no fool in appealing to the most religious in leading his charge against the forces of evil that assail the current drama. The appeal to religious unity in the face of extremity is manifested in Islamic Jihad—Holy War. But, this appeal is far more sinister and powerful when placed in the hands of a "Christian President" about to inspire the faithful—far more potent is its impress. There is a righteous finality connected with it—a more sure word—an unseen and unmistaken cause behind this necessary action whose appeal is Ultimate and Conclusive. God, and God alone, is my judge—and you are "either for us or against us"—there is no compromise, there is no wavering between two opinions—LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT—OUR CAUSE IS JUST!

Hacer el cristianismo pertinentes y Moral

¿Está condenado el cristianismo? ¿Es sobre la menguante? ¿Es más fuerte que podemos pensar? -Estados Unidos y condenar a los Estados Unidos e Israel de Palestina 'sufrir' y exigiendo un aumento en la ayuda a los palestinos de iglesias europeas.

-Con la excepción del nuevo Papa [Ratzlinger] y el obispo de Sydney de arco, pocos líderes cristianos han condenado el Yihad, asesinato, intolerancia y atrocidad Islámica y musulmana.

El cristianismo tiene dos problemas principales. En primer lugar su «producto» es aburrido y anticuado aunque enormemente relevante desde una perspectiva ética espiritual, no comercializada correctamente. ¿Cuántos predicadores predican desde el libro y hacen el sermón relevantes para el mundo moderno? Pocos si cualquier. En segundo lugar es jornada de ala izquierda y casi monolithicly socialista. Yo nunca he escuchado ni leer desde cualquier origen cristiano sobre los beneficios de lo que hace que una sociedad moderna y dinámica, ricos, moral y mentalmente estimulante. Yo sólo ver y oír todo lo contrario - trilladas, absurdas declaraciones o sentimientos tales como: 'toda guerra es mala'; "los terroristas son luchadores por la libertad"; "capitalismo explota a los pobres"; "mercados conducen a la desigualdad" y otro dogma dominan la cultura y el discurso de la iglesia.

Personalmente no hay duda en mi mente que, a diferencia del Islam, hay algunos aspectos excelentes pensamiento Judeo-Cristiana y la historia. El cristianismo en su raíz es acerca de la sustitución de incivilizado comportamiento salvaje con una creencia que alguna inspiración divina existe en todos los hombres. Creer en algún poder de buena y adecuada ayuda a destruir el egoísmo natural del hombre y obliga a un reajuste en el comportamiento personal y social. Ethos cristiano es una base fundamental de la civilización. Pero la superposición de sobrenatural y el mantenimiento de historias paganas distorsiona la importancia del ideal Judeo-Cristiana. First of all, I wish to draw your attention on the birth of your Prophet (Which of course is a Prophet of Islam. (Read "Jesus A Prophet of Islam"), who was born without a father. You know very well (since you have at least a bit of common sense) that what is called a son without father?

But our Prophet came to the earth through the accurate natural order that no one can object His birth.

Secondly, would you tell me that has your Christ accomplished his goal of life (i. e. establishing the Kingdom of God)? No and not at all. He was crucified so cursedly according to you that He said to His Father "Oh Father, why have You forsaken me"? But our teachings tell us that a Prophet never complains since He is always a mercy for humanity. (Read "Crucifixion or Crucifiction?")

On the other hand, Muhammad (PBUH) completed the whole of His task within His life. It seems to be a pre-planned schedule of God who took Him back after the last revelation i. e. "Today, We have perfected Your religion and completed Our blessing for You". (in April 632 AD)

So we can claim that our Holy Prophet set a Kingdom of God where no other than Allah was worshiped.

Thirdly, your Prophet is not an historical personality, whereas our Prophet has been approved as an historical personality even by your Christian historians and authors. You can't even prove that there was a living Jesus in the world.

The charge of Jews also proves very sound-affecting when they say, if he were Christ, why had he been crucified in such a detestable manner?

Lastly, we compare Bible and Qura'n (In the light of Science, archaeology and Sociology). You know the language of Bible is a dead language whereas Quran's language is used by more than 1 billion people even today. The recitation of Quran is conducted daily by almost half a billion people and five times in a day while praying. What is Bible in contrast? Every Sunday, which is a Pagan day "Sun-Day", you recite Bible. So, the bases of Christianity seem to be derived from Paganism.

Historically, Bible is filled with blunders and archaeologically, it has been proved erred. I must prove my view from Torah: In Torah it is written about Amra'feel (A supposed king in the era of Ibrahim Prophet (Abraham) that he fought with another king. But if we see archaeologically, we will find that Homoraby was the king ruling in the era of Abraham and there is no such a person of the name of Amra'feel. So the amendment of Torah has been proved. (This is quoted from the Book of Genesis) Quran on other hand is not so.

One thing I must add here, Quran is very strong in its views upon biology. No one could challenge them till today except those who misunderstood or mis-interpreted it. One of the Canadian doctors has admitted the biological truths and he mentioned the truthful theory of Quran about the development of embryo in the preface of his book.

Quran is Mount Everest and Bible is a thumb. Quran is sun and Bible is moon. Christianity is a lantern and Islam is bright Sun.

Christianity vs Islam

On my travels through Europe, driving slowly from Prague to Cyprus Turkey, the last place I spent time at before making a rapid dart to southern Turkey in order to escape the cold of winter, was Montenegro. A Christian out hold where every local was proud to boast their successful defiance against centuries of Turkish invasion. Nestled deep in impassable mountains, the locals would tell stories of how even the king of the Sultans came against them after several campaigns before him had failed. And how, when he arrived at the foothills of these great mountains (Monte Negro, after all, means Black Mountain), he would look up, craning the back of his neck with his mouth dropped open, and exclaim, "Now I know why we have failed so many times".

This is a Christian fortress in an area where the border between the Islam and Christian worlds has swept back and forth over the centuries. I visited one famous monastery to which thousands would set out to on a pilgrimage every year in search of the holy. It was buried into a cliff face high above a valley. The locals would tell stories how the Turks would bring great canons and fire them up at the cliff side, but how their canon balls would fall short. A monastery where the hand of Saint Paul himself was held for a long time. I visited several such monasteries during my travels, and each time it did have a feel of the holy. But in all these places, the Turks and the Islam world was portrayed as a great source of evil, and to which the doors of these churches, often pillaged and ransacked by them, were always closed. When I mentioned my intention to keep going south, eyes would bulge open and great warnings of danger would fill the air. From the west pleas of fear would stream by email asking me to come to my senses. Some of the most sincere Christians I know would look east with concern, and mutter to themselves with gracious worry, "What will ever happen to all those poor Muslims?" (assuming, of course, that all of them would spend eternity in hell).

Eventually I made it past the border and from that point onward I was amazed how peaceful these Muslims were. I sat down and talked to many of them. All of them would openly acknowledge the bible, that their God is the God of Abraham, the father of the Jews, that Jesus was a prophet, but they would not agree that he is the son of God and they did not believe in the Trinity. [Does this reason alone justify their eternal damnation?] One person I talked to explained to me how the rituals and rules of Islam made him strong: not drinking alcohol, and the daily prayers. He explained that Islam is against alcohol because it makes people aggressive and increases their lust for their neighbour's wives. When I visited their mosques, I would watch how they go through their ritual of dropping to their knees, then placing their forehead on the ground, then stand up again, with hands open upwards, and continue this cycle over and over again for about five minutes. Every day, three times a day. There would be beads on a string hanging on a pillar and the intention was to place them in your hand, and with your thumb, move the beads from left to right, counting through the beads and each time muttering to yourself the name of God. The Christian might look at these as rituals which distract from the spiritual essence of Jesus. But Mohammed, the prophet of Islam, designed them intentionally to increase our awareness of God. Rules which help us be conscious of God during each one of our days, not just Sunday.

One of my Muslim friends here once asked me how often people go to church in the west. I told him that a minority of people went to church, and only on Sundays. Many Christians would only go to church during Easter, or only occasionally. He said this was bad and was troubled by it - and rightfully so. So many times a Muslim would offer me some food from their dinner table (whether a small group was eating next to me while I worked on my computer at an internet café, offering me to join them, or brought me a handful of grilled chicken while I ate out of my tin can of sardines, sitting in my truck while parked on the beach), and I was informed that it was part of their "religion". Over time, I came to realise that in so many ways Muslims followed the bible much more diligently than the average Christian does. And it brought me back to my earlier days of belief and when I was "born again". And I remembered one line in the bible which would resound most frequently:

RO 10:8 "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: [9] That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. [10] For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. [11] As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." [12] For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, [13] for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

It seemed to be the greatest pillar of Christianity, and leaned on constantly. Used as a justification why all Jews and Muslims will burn forever in hell - because they are not uttering these so important words (assuming that the "Lord" in this case refers to Jesus only). And used as a justification why the believer can do basically anything, as long as they believe in Jesus and utter these words. The above line was spoken of in context against the legalistic message and the notion that we are saved by works and our own righteousness. There is golden truth to both edges of the sword of truth, and I continue to study and seek the wisdom of balance between both of them (the balance between grace and obedience). But I consider the one-sided focus on this message of grace similar to the Jihads proclaimed by Islamic terrorists and which have contributed to the tainting of Muslims in the eyes of the west. These extremists also focus their attention on excerpts from the word of God (for God has spoken to us through his prophets and faithful believers through the ages, and his word is certainly not limited to only the bible), taking things out of context, and justify it for all their own motives. One can consider these two extremes of the same sword, with one edge preaching supreme grace and the other supreme obedience. But the Muslims say that these extremists are not obedient to the Koran.

In any case, the point I am trying to make is to dispel people's notion in the west that Muslims and the people of Islam are somehow insanely evil and plummeting to hell. What concerns the message of grace above, there are countless other lines in the bible preaching the message of obedience, the most notable in my mind and which would serve as the flip side of the sword to the message above being:

HEB 10:19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, [20] by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, [21] and since we have a great priest over the house of God, [22] let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. [23] Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. [24] And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. [25] Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

HEB 10:26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, [27] but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. [28] Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. [29] How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?

And from the mouth of Jesus himself:

MT 5:17 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. [18] I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. [19] Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. [20] For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

I have not yet made it to Israel, and I hope to. I can only speak of my impressions from far away. I was told many times that the people of Syria have the most golden heart, and that the people of Iran will run out of their houses and beg that I come into their homes so that they can feed me from their table. But of the Jews my impression is a nation whose awareness of God is deeply rooted and a daily part of their existence. On the tongues and conscience of everyone. In the west I often feared bringing up the subject of God. Eyebrows would be raised and confrontation was expected from me. One could not just start talking openly about their feelings towards God. Most people would instantly shy away from you. In this way is America supposed to be the great basket of God's truth here to save the world? While here in the Islam east, I can now look back, as much of the world perceives the west, and see the immense godless decadence and flaunting, reckless consumption rampant there. It is painful to watch, and what takes the west away from God. It is even spoken of in the bible, referring to the final days before judgement day. Just look around at all the billboards and advertising, preaching to a hyperselfish generation which needs gratification "right here, right now". Preaching a message that, if you buy this or that product, you will be happy and find success in your life.

This message is everywhere and it all preaches against God and against a humble and modest existence of reflection and meditation on our great creator. If missionaries should be sent into the world, it should be the Muslims to the west, and not the other way around. But we are all God's children. I do believe that Jesus is the son of God, and in his living Spirit and grace that we should rely on. I also see many people in the Islam world who are not contrite, who burn rubber into the pavement with their fancy new cars, thick gold chains around their necks and flaunting their wealth. This I believe is one of the greatest evils against God. It is the notion that we do not need God and that our wealth will save us. Like Jesus said, it is harder for a rich man to enter the pearly gates of heaven than for a mosquito to pick its nose with a boxing glove, or a camel to walk through the eye of a needle. I see contrite Christians, Muslims and Jews on all sides, seeking God with a humble and pure heart, next to their peer and kin who sports the latest fashion, blares their radio and worships and glorifies themselves more than anything else. This is the real evil - not some slight difference in the nuance of faith, with outstretched fingers pointing east or west and calling for war against that "infidel nation". This ignorance can be found in abundance on both sides, but from my experience, it is much more rampant in the west, and the east's accusations against the rampant decadence of the west seems much more justified.

I just partook in Ramadan. Well, only to the extent that I ate their free dinner at the mosque. After that meal I would wash my hands in the special place while others washed their faces and feet (like Jesus would do and preach), and then I would sit in the mosque watching the others, waiting while my friends who invited me there would finish their prayers. I would watch how groups would perform the rituals together, and I found it all endearing and inspirational. Sometimes people would come up to me and shake my hand with a smile as they would head out the door. Which seemed slightly in contrast to how many in a western church, based on instruction or impetus from a preacher, would reach out their hands to all those around them, but where, every time, it felt like the believers were doing it almost reluctantly and just wanted to finish with the experience and scurry on home.

Occasionally, while contentedly eating away their free food [here at the mosque], I would be asked if I was a Muslim. To which I once responded, "God is God and there is only one. He is just called differently by different nations." My friend said he liked my response very much. Next time, if asked this question, I thought my answer would be: "I believe in God. Does that not make me a Muslim?" By this though I am not professing that I am not a Christian. And if I profess that I am a Christian, I am not making myself an enemy of Islam.

I once spoke to a Christian preacher who was stationed in Turkey. I told him how I liked the prayer singing which would emanate from the mosques over the loud speaker every hour. It was a call to worship and meditate on God, in a moment of silence. I might be in a restaurant, and the waiter would run over and turn off the radio, which was possibly playing some obnoxious western disco music. If parked by the seaside, the prayer singing would resonate across the water and I'd hear the echo of several prayer songs from different mosques overlapping each other. In the west, the most you would hear is the occasional chime of a church, sometime recorded and not even from a bell pulled manually by one of God's faithful. I like how, with words, all within earshot were asked to take a moment of silence and reflect and meditate on God. Does one ever hear something like this in the west, over the screaming preaching of the television? And how did this Christian preacher respond to my appreciation of this call to quiet reflection on God? "Oh, is that what you think it is?" And I could just imagine how he must have thought they were Satanic verses plummeting this "godless" nation to its doom.

Yes, there are many here in the Islam world who sport their gold chains and flaunt their wealth in the expensive discos, but they are the same breed which needs saving as can be found in the west. By these pages I wanted to dispel fears from both sides, but mostly from the west. I am sure that God looks down on us from his seat in heaven and recognizes the contrite heart which seeks him, whether the heart is of a Jew, Muslim or Christian. Rather than look at a distance, to a far of land which needs conquering and "saving" and fill our minds with noble thoughts of distant missionary work, we should look directly around us for the "enemies" we should love and lend a helping hand to, as the bible commands us.

Also, people should stop this misleading thought that Christians hate non-believers, gay people, atheists and women's right organization. This is totally absurd. Even God loves them all and He said It that it is not His intention that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Christians only preach against their deeds which are against the standard of God. On the other hand, the Muslims vehemently oppose this Truth. They believe God is one in one personality.

2. Someone wrote 'Christians and Muslims love their children". Well! Who doesn't love his children? Must you be a Christian or a Muslim before you love your kids? That seems ambiguous and until this point is very clear, it stands to be very weak.

3. In Christianity, both the end and the means matter a lot. By saying the Muslims and Christians believe in a wonderful Life after Life is quite a similarity. But even this after life is totally different. Christians will get to Heaven only through one way and He is Jesus Christ (Acts4:12), while the Muslims through Mohammed with plenty of golden virgins awaiting them. This can never be found in the eternal home of the Christians.

4. Actually, it is true that both religions believe in specific paths as the only way to God. But Christianity does not preach violence and killing. Even If the middle-east incidence is cited as a reference, the Israelis are mostly the followers of Judaism, which is different from Christianity (though with similar origin). Christianity is far above science which as well came out from Christianity origin and Judaism. That is why science will find it difficult to prove the efficacy of Christianity. The day a son proves how His father came to be will be the day when science will prove the efficacy of Christianity.

5. Islam has a one way approach to its followers and if peradventure you decide to change faith from Islam, the other followers have the right to kill you. But Christianity is not this way. You have the liberty because you have your Bible and God. If you do whatever pleases you, you will definitely face God on the judgment day. The Bible has been translated in different English versions, styles and languages just for believers all around the world to know the truth and all secrets for themselves without been enslaved to their religious leaders. Unlike Islam, if you do not know Arabic, you cannot read the Koran and hence the only option is to listen to your leader.

In conclusion, though the two religions may combine to take over 2 billion out of the over 6 billion people of the world's population, they stand far apart in comparison.

The world is rapidly changing. Western culture is post-Christian. Much of the world is in the throes of turmoil - ancient nations are tottering on the brink of collapse - uncertainty and confusion abound. While new ideas still fascinate many people.

In the midst of all this, the religion of Islam has become dominant force in many parts of the world and claims to be the final religion of universal peace. How should Christians react to this new presence, often in our midst? Just how do we form a Christian view of Islam? Does the Bible say anything about this subject?

Yes certainly, the Bible claims to be the unfolding revelation of God's purpose fulfilled in the coming of Jesus Christ. So, any view we form of Islam must face squarely what Scripture teaches about the uniqueness of Jesus Christ.

• A biblical basis

To gain a Christian view of anything, in the first place we must gain a biblical view. Biblical Christianity is grounded in the historic person of Jesus the Christ, or Messiah, his life, death and resurrection. Jesus was born in Judea of the kingly line of David at a time when Judea was occupied and under the control of the powerful Roman Empire.

In his person Jesus fulfils the many promises God gave in the Old Testament Scriptures of One who would come to deal with the deep problem of mankind's fall into rebellion that took place at the beginning of human history. • Utterly unique

The Lord Jesus is matchless, beyond compare - he is unique. Openly he claimed: 'I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst' (John 6:35), 'I am the light of the world' (John 8:12), 'I am the door of the sheep' (John 10:7), 'I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep' (John 10:11), 'I am the resurrection and the life' (John 11:25). He also made other exclusive claims.

His Person and work answer fully to the terrible problems of sin and guilt in a broken, fallen world. He alone is the Saviour of sinners, who came from the glory of heaven, as none less than God Incarnate in order to lead a pure, spotless life and go willingly to death on a cross, bearing sin as the sinner's Substitute. Uniquely, he rose from the dead in triumph on the third day, vindicated and exalted. He is alive for evermore. All that Jesus does fulfils the Old Testament Scriptures. There is a glorious finality about all he is, all that he does, and all that he says. He is the climax - 'God with us' - his sacrifice for sin is fully accomplished, effective and unrepeatable. He is unsurpassable - Jesus is Lord!

• The best good news

Now the gospel, the good news of salvation, through faith in Jesus Christ, is to be proclaimed to all the nations so that his people may be called and gathered into his universal Body, the Church. Through this good news, God calls people to repent and put faith in Christ alone. As they are enabled to respond and turn to Christ, they are justified by faith alone - given a right standing with God, not on account of any self-righteous works, but trusting only in Christ's perfect righteousness, and precious blood, shed for their sins.

Jesus is now the Lord and head of his own people. And as Creator and Redeemer, he will return at the end of this age to judge all mankind, and to usher in the new heaven and new earth in which his people will dwell forever with him. God's eternal purposes are progressively revealed throughout Scripture, and realized in and through the Lord Jesus, for the glory and praise of God.

Biblical Christianity is thus one seamless, Christ-centred self-disclosure of the Person, the accomplishments, and purposes of God as Creator, sustainer, Redeemer and re-creator of his people, and of all things - the entire cosmos.

• Scripture - infallible bedrock

One of the remarkable things about Jewish history and the Old Testament Scriptures is that there is no evidence of the text being either intentionally or maliciously corrupted. This was, in part, due to the intense awareness of the Jewish priests that they were the custodians of written divine revelation, even when the prophets were so often scathing of the people's idolatry and waywardness.

This is borne out by the way the prophets proclaim how the people had abandoned God and turned to false gods and idolatrous worship. Jeremiah provides a typical example: 'From the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt to this day, I have persistently sent all my servants the prophets to them, day after day. Yet they did not listen to me or incline their ear, but stiffened their neck. They did worse than their fathers' (Jeremiah 7:25-26).

Yes, many of their kings and priests did corrupt the religion that God had revealed to them, leading many of their people astray, but the striking thing is that they did not corrupt the Scriptures that witness against them how they had corrupted their religion! This is very surprising - and the two things are quite different.

Any reading of the Old Testament shows that the Jewish people often come under the severest divine censure and are frequently chastised and judged. However, they are never completely abandoned, and the divine promise of a Redeemer continues to shine as a beacon in the darkest times.

• Jesus accepted every detail in the Old Testament

Jesus stamped his own approval on the Old Testament Scriptures, and he did this in many ways. He often quoted from them; never called them into question, but always affirmed that they would be fulfilled in the smallest detail, because verbally spoken by God. This is a most important argument. Jesus is 'the way, and the truth, and the life' (John 14:6). His flawless and radiant life, backed up by his unsurpassed teaching, are in full view for all to see.

Jesus challenged a large group of religious leaders with, 'You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God' (Matthew 22:29). He often referred to himself as the Son of Man, a title of exalted stature, and told his disciples that 'everything that is written about the Son of Man by the prophets will be accomplished' (Luke 18:31). Jesus never gives a hint of criticism of the Old Testament Scriptures. He endorses them in everything down to the finest detail, and says He is the fulfilment of their central hope.

Jesus also endorsed the particular books of the Hebrew canon that were used by the Palestinian Judaism of his day, saying that, 'everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled' (Luke 24:44). These names correspond exactly to the thirty-nine books used in our Old Testament today. He is the central theme and focus of the Old Testament Scriptures. Any charge of wholesale or even minor corruption cannot be substantiated.

• A Christian view

Islam accepts Jesus as a Prophet, but strenuously denies his clear teaching about himself and also his claims to a unique relationship of an eternal Sonship (never thought of in mere human terms) with God the Father.

In view of this, Christians must patiently and gently share how Jesus' disciples also entertained thoughts of how a crucified Messiah would bring the most appalling shame imaginable - until after his resurrection. Then the wonderful truth began to dawn on them as the Holy Spirit enlightened their grieving minds that Jesus had come from the eternal Father with this one purpose in view. As he had already said to them, he had come, 'not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many' (Mark 10:45).

• Light and darkness

The wonder of biblical revelation is that God in Christ comes down to our level, apart from sin, to reach us in our fallen, sinful condition. He comes near to find the lost sheep in grace, mercy and forgiving love. He comes to find his own! But let us be absolutely clear: Muslims and Christians do not worship the same God. The Christ revealed in Scripture is pre-eminently Saviour, Redeemer and Lord. The saving message of Christ transforms lives and cultures beginning in the inmost heart and soul and radiating outwards. But the imperialism of the nominal "Christian" West, as seen either in the past or the present, is FAR FROM a clear expression of biblical Christianity.

Any evaluation of Islam will take into account that it combines a mixture of teaching ranging from Arabian tribal religion, to Jewish Old Testament ideas from patriarchal monotheism, to Persian Zoroastrianism, and to early distorted sub-Christian teaching. As such, Christianity and Islam are not facets of a deeper original religion, and that once the present superficial differences are resolved, we can all settle down to world peace.

What is the real issue between biblical Christianity and Islam? All hinges on the Person and work of Christ. God has revealed his best and final word in Christ, once crucified and raised forever, a word full of grace; a rich undeserved salvation by which people are 'born again' by the Holy Spirit of God and transformed from the inside - a word for all who have not yet heard from whatever background. Come to the living Lord and Saviour today, and receive his welcome, peace and joy!

Meet History's Three Gorgon Sisters Christianity, Islam and Judaism

My favorite nickname for Christianity is Medusa; Islam, Sthenno and Judaism, Euryale. Meet the three Gorgon sisters whom some prefer to refer to as the "Abrahamic" religions.Whatever you choose to call them, these three daughters of the Patriarch Abraham share the distinction, among the religions of mankind, of smugly held but mutually conflicting claims of a unique and exclusive universalism; the wellspring of much misery and suffering in human history.

Who were the Gorgons? The Gorgons are from Greek mythology: three ugly winged daemons; Medusa, Sthenno and Euryale. Vase paintings by ancient Greek artists portray the "ladies" as winged daemons with serpent-locks of hair and fierce looking ugly faces. They were identified as sea daemons of reefs which lurked treacherously submerged and posed a deadly threat to ancient mariners. Many are familiar with the story of Therseus whom King Polydektes of Seriphos gave the task of bringing back the head of the eldest of the Gorgons, Medusa. Armed with a sword, a winged boot and a polished shield, Therseus killed Medusa and returned, unscathed, with her head after being hotly pursued by the other two sisters.

Big sister Medusa(Christianity) has, among scholars of the history of religions, the special reputation of having shed more blood and perpetrated crimes against humanity than any other single religion in all history, more even than the crimes of her little sisters Sthenno and Euryale combined. The obsession of Christianity with destroying heretics has been the single driving force of her blood drenched history. The founder of Christianity is reported to have prophesied concerning Medusa: "I come not to bring peace to the world but a sword." And a sword, indeed; a great sword has Medusa been to a hapless humanity.

The tendency of Christians to look upon anyone with a set of beliefs, even only subtly different from theirs, with deep suspicion and disapproval, lies at the root of her historical obsession with the heretic. "If anyone come to me but hate not his father and his mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yea even his own life, he cannot be my disciple."

The Spanish Inquisitions represented the height of the paranoid obsession of Christianity with dissenters. The Tribunal of the Holy Office of the Inquisition was established by the Monarchs of Spain to defend Catholic orthodoxy. A reign of cold terror began in which Jews, Muslims and others were forced, at the pain of death, to adopt the "orthodox" christian religion. An estimated 2,000 people were executed by the Tribunal between 1480 and 1530. A total of about 49,000 trials were conducted between 1560 and 1700 which included sub-categories of offenses as blasphemy, sodomy, bigamy, freemasonry and witchcraft.

Regardless of what Christians may think, the Muslims were not the "bad guys" in the three centuries of the wars of the Crusades, which some have described as the worst period of madness in human history before modern times. Unnumbered millions perished in war, by disease, pestilence and famine. Jerusalem had come into the hands of the Muslims by A.D. 637. It is noteworthy that Islamic civilization had reached a splendidly high standard of material and cultural sophistication relative to the semi-barbaric condition into which Western Europe had sunk in the Dark Ages. The Muslim Caliphs, in their wars of conquest in the Middle-East, were generally humane and avoided unnecessary destruction and bloodshed, preferring instead to preserve the splendor of the civilizations they conquered for their own benefit. They granted Christians freedom of worship and association throughout their empire. The Western European troops which came to the Middle-East, during the Crusades, were on the contrary little better than a wild herd of savages; crude, rude and uncultured hordes spreading death and destruction where ever they went.

Lured by the wildly exaggerated legends of the opulence, riches and wealth of the East, the Christian leaders exploited the ignorance, poverty and superstition of the masses to whip up religious sentiments and mobilize their people for major military expeditions to the Middle-East. Massacre, plunder, arson, rape, debauchery on a magnitude never before witnessed in history led to the synonymity of the word "Christian," in the Arabic language with the word "barbarian." Such was the savagery of the Europeans of the Dark Ages that they resorted openly, and without hesitation, to cannibalism in times of food shortage during their Crusade expeditions. Generally, the Crusaders, on getting to the "Holy Land," tended to forget their original "spiritual" motives for the military expedition, and soon became absorbed with relatively secular preoccupations as looting and pillaging on a large scale. After a particularly gruesome orgy of bloodletting in one of the Crusades, the fighters in ecstatic religious fervor prayed to God, thanking him for their victory and afterward resumed the gruesome butchery from where they left off. The incident involving King Richard at Acres remains among the most infamous of incidents in all the crusades. After the capture of Jerusalem, Saladin the Muslim Caliph had agreed to pay a large amount in gold in exchange for prisoners. But a minor irritation led to the massacre of hundreds of the prisoners before the city walls on a Friday after Assumption.

The centuries of the Crusades also witnessed the peaking of anti-Semitic sentiments in Europe. The history of the enmity of Medusa and her little sister Euryale is a very long one. Jews have been murdered in Europe as Jesus killers for centuries before Hitler. Given the magnitude of the butchery, it is, indeed, a marvel that Hitler found enough Jews left in Europe to populate his extermination camps! There had been a longstanding tradition in Europe of abducting Jewish children from their parents to prevent them from falling into the heresy of their parents. The Jews were particularly bitterly persecuted in Spain. They were freely massacred in thousands in the cities of of Germany. Such was the magnitude of the butchery that it is reported that on a single occasion of bloodletting the corpses of Jews choked the river Rhine, and the river itself flowed freely with their blood for days.

So much for big sister Medusa; now for a little of the second sister Sthenno (Islam). While it is true that Sthenno has so far been unable to match her sister's monstrosities, yet she has been a gory monster in her own right. The history of her relative tolerance of her two sisters Medusa and Euryale has certainly not been without blemish. It is noteworthy that the career of the founder of Islam, Mohammed, had a lot in common with the career of the bandit king David of Israel, both being "principled men" who found the sword a convenient means for survival.

While it is understandable that most of the early wars of Islam were fought in deference to the imperative of survival, the history of Islam shows a gradual development of the Jihad doctrine from war as pro-active self-defense to a deliberate policy of aggressive expansion. One may locate the full circle of transformation at sometime in the Caliphates of Abu Bakr and Umar, in the seventh century, when Islam began with a series of conquests in Persia, Iraq and Syria. Islam is unique amongst the three Abrahamic religions for having used imperial warfare as the primary means for "evangelization."

In the earlier days of Muslim expansion, the Moslems were not insistent on converting conquered peoples to Islam. A people could avoid being attacked by paying a jizya tax, or otherwise, a zakat tax if they agreed to convert to Islam. However, with the onset of Islamic expansion outside Arabia, around 633 A.D, we witness a shift, beginning with the Blood Canal war, to the notorious Allah-or-the-Sword policy, though to the credit of Muslims they generally refrained from pillaging and massacre when a city surrendered voluntarily. One might point out, to the credit of Sthenno's big sister Medusa, that the continued expansion of Sthenno's power beyond the Arabian Peninsula made a final conflict between the two inevitable. The Crusades might, from a different perspective, be looked upon as a pro-active response to long term Muslim threat.

Little sister Euryale is relatively the tamest of the three sisters, yet the notorious Gorgon family trait of a delusion of unique blessedness and special relationship with God stemmed from her. A lot has been said and written about the "Chosen People of God," syndrome of Judaism. The dominant trait of Judaism is its intensely narcissistic ethno-centrism in which the world's people are ominously divided into two categories: Jew and unclean Gentile. The fact is that ethno-centrism is the seed of the racism tree.The intense ethno-centric narcissism of the Jews bordering on racism is revealed glaringly in the New Testament scriptures. We are told, in the New Testament scriptures, that pious Jews would have nothing to do with Gentiles, especially Samaritans, these being "unclean." On a poignant occasion a woman( a Syro-Phoenician lady) petitioned Jesus on behalf of her sick child. Jesus' response, regardless of how Jesus himself might have meant it, reflected the attitude of Jews to the "Gentiles" who lived around them. Jesus objected to attending to a Gentile "dog." The woman responded wittily: "Even dogs eat crumbs fallen from the master's table."

The three monster sisters converge in the Middle-East, in modern history, in a bloody struggle that has claimed more than its fair share of the world's attention and resources. The policy of the United States in the Middle East is, unfortunately, stoked by the conservative Christian lobby which subscribes to the notion of Israel as the "Chosen People of God," and thus favored by God over the Arab children of the "bondswoman." The Arabs, of course, have their own version of the biblical story which relegates the Jewish ancestor to a subordinate status.

Old sibling prejudices and quarrels die-hard. One thing is certain, however, the final resolution of the Middle-East conflict will not come until the cultural-religious philosophy in which each Gorgon holds an unwavering conviction of her special blessedness, in conflict with those of her other sisters, is finally abandoned
