One thing that has always bothered many members in our reflection to talk about protecting the American people against international terrorism is that many of the terrorists are not average citizens in their own culture. Rather, they are highly educated and trained engineers and media to understand things as torque, compression, tension, friction, gravity, explosives, metal fatigue, and in other words, they know how to make things explode, as well as to make them stronger.
An individual with this kind of knowledge knows the weaknesses of any system they are trained to find them, and therefore, as terrorists, they will use their mind to exploit the weaknesses. This is a problem, and is why we have to be very careful in our circles with those who are less reputable engineering or planning blitzes malicious or destructive acts against humanity.
There was a great article in the IEEE magazine not for a long time; "Do extremist engineers - by which so many engineers of jihadis?" by Susan Karlin, published in September 2008. In fact, it was a brilliant article, with a lot of examples of engineers who were Islamic extremists who became terrorists and made a horrible act. Terrorist attacks studied engineers were more than two times more than the secondary profession of Islamic studies, which was more than two times more than the third category of medicine.
Well, this has been interesting and you've gone 2-day pouring over the information and read enough books on the subject in accordance with the conclusions. However, one could also say that there is a higher percentage of engineers, because they are smart enough to remove large events that capture the attention of the media and known.
Another issue is that if you stay on the school of engineering in a Muslim country, have been washed and you might want to prove their manliness, cunning, intelligence and wisdom showing how big of an event that can be managed. Thinking aloud, enjoy researching this topic and others apparently had too. I also recommend reading; "Recruitment of terrorists and radicalization in Saudi Arabia" by Thomas Hegghamer. Please all this.
