Mainly called Eid, Eid-Ul-Fitr (Arabic: feast of the breaking of the fast), Eid is also called Idul Fitri (Indonesia); Shemai Eid (Bangladesh); Hari Raya Puasa, Hari Lebaran (Malaysia); Ramazan bayrami day (Turki).
EID is a festival that marks the end of the month of Ramadan fasting. This year, Eid will be held on October 2. Held in many different ways depending on the country, some rituals are common to the festival including the prayer, exchanging gifts, charity and visit near and dear.
During the Ramadan fasting month, followers of Islam observe a very strict and hard practice fast and take part in pious acts and forgive those who have hurt giving food, gifts etc. to charities or poor bond and forging stronger blood. As in other Islamic countries, Pakistan Eid is celebrated with much fervor and enthusiasm. Normally, people wake up very early, the first 'Namaz' or prayer offer and then eat a small meal to start the day. These prayers of Eid (salah) are short and almost followed by sermons (youth) followed by the prayer forgivingness and mercy (dua). During this time, people also visit relatives and friend and thanks to Allah for blessings.
Eid ul-Fitr is a time happy with religious significance, celebrating the completion of enhanced piety. It is a day of forgiveness, moral victory, peace, fraternity, solidarity and unity. The Muslims commemorate not only the end of the month of Ramadan, but thanks to Allah to give them strength and self-discipline. It is usually a time of sharing, giving and forgiving.
